Nuts and seeds have always been an important part of the human diet. They were eaten for thousands of years as the basis of the hunter-gatherers’ diet.
Nowadays, in our economically developed world, they have a quality image associated with pleasure and refinement.
Walnuts are a traditional part of many regional gastronomic specialties. Their rich flavor goes well with all sorts of herbs, spices, vegetables, fruits, cheese and meat. Nuts and seeds are very nutritious, easy to store and represent a good value for money.
Nuts contain no cholesterol and are rich in important nutritive elements such as fiber and protein. They are an excellent source of vitamins, such as B9, B3 vitamins E and B6, and also of minerals, such as magnesium, copper, iron, zinc, selenium, phosphorous and potassium.
Nuts of all types can also supply our daily requirements of essential fatty acids. These polyunsaturated fats play an important role in blood circulation, the immune system,
the healing of wounds, healthy skin and vision.
